What would you get if you Terminator and DayZ made a love baby? Probably the open world survival game Terminator: Survivors.
Fighting for your life against murderous robots, self-survival in the Terminator universe will soon be possible. The new game, Terminator: Survivors will be out in early access on Oct. 24.
This is not the first time we have heard about the open-world Terminator game. The creator first announced the game in 2022, but then without a name or release date. But what exactly will such a game look like? Will it be like DayZ?
Terminator: Survivors instead of DayZ
The information about the new game comes from a 1-minute-long teaser from creator Nacon. In it, no actual gameplay is shown, but it does give us an idea of what we are going to be able to expect from Terminator: Survivors when it comes out. Sort of an open world survival game like DayZ, in other words.
In the teaser, we see two people searching for fuel in an empty building. During this search, they are tracked down by a T-800 robot, which you know from the movies. The robot attacks the two, and then the picture goes black.
Where to play
In addition to the trailer, new information is also available on Steam, as the game has received its own page here. Thus, the DayZ competitor is going to be set in the world of the first two Terminator movies. So it will not be a new universe, but will continue in the world of existing films.
However, the game does get completely original characters with their own story. You can play the game on your own or co-op. Compare it a bit to DayZ Together you have to make a fortress and survive against the Terminator robots.

This DayZ competitor will first appear only on Steam via Early Access. Later, the game will also come to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but that date has not yet been announced.
