There are several reasons why your iPhone might be running a lot slower than when you bought it. An Apple expert from The Sun, Taryn Pedler, has the ultimate tip to make smartphone faster again. We are of course sharing this handy tip with you!
One of the causes of a slower device is that deleting an app on your iPhone does not remove the app for the full 100 percent. For a single app, that’s not a problem, but over time you’re left with a lot of useless app data. That doesn’t exactly improve the speed of your smartphone. Here’s what you can do about it.
Goodbye slow iPhone, thanks Apple expert!
If you’re used to deleting an app by holding down the app and tapping Delete App, you’d do well to add an extra step from now on (or simply skip that first step entirely).
The Apple expert in question knows exactly how you do say goodbye to apps once and for all. You can do this by removing the hidden apps from your app library in a special way. You reach this window by swiping left from your home screen. Once there, tap the bar marked App Library.
This is where you will find all the apps on your iPhone, including hidden apps. Go to settings on your iPhone and tap General. Then go to your iPhone storage. It may take a while for all (hidden) apps to load. Select an app (already partially deleted) that you want to completely remove from your smartphone.
You will now see a screen that includes how much data is stored. If you’re sure you want to delete the app and all expected data, tap Delete app. That’s it!
