You obviously never want to drop your new iPhone 15 Pro, but unfortunately it can happen sometimes. As such, you don’t want it to crack right away. But how quickly does Apple’s new smartphone break down.
We don’t really understand it either, but there are people who intentionally drop their new iPhone 15 on the ground. They do this for a YouTube video to test the sturdiness of the device. One such channel is AppleTrack.
The titanium of the iPhone 15 Pro
First up is the iPhone 15 Pro. This is a special model because it is Apple’s first smartphone with a frame made of titanium. It is lighter than the stainless steel of the 14 Pro and sacrifices little in terms of strength.
In the first drop test, the 15 Pro has no issues. The 14 Pro does have an immediate mark to catch. In subsequent drops, both models sustain damage.
When dropped on the back, the iPhone 15 Pro is the first to crack. Although the glass of both models is the same, the 15 has a slight curve at the edges. At the front, it’s “the same story. Still, it should be noted here that the phone almost never lands on the ground in such a way.
At the end, even the iPhone 15 Pro’s camera comes off, but for this you have to get really, really crazy.
What about the flagship?
As with the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple has switched to Titanium for the Pro Max. In a video by JerryRigEverything, we see how that device fares when dropped on the ground.
That video also mentions the quality of the titanium. The screen holds up well during the fire test, but then again it cannot withstand bending. Incidentally, this does not happen with the regular iPhone 15 Pro.
Drop it anyway and it breaks? Then at least you can repair it much cheaper than last year. This is because the model has been adjusted a bit.
