The Google Pixel is one of the best Android phones on the market. Now it has a new feature that makes it the ideal phone for in-car use.
We all use the phone in the car from time to time. We do so hands-free, of course, so the device helps navigate through Google Maps. Now with the Google Pixel comes another ideal feature. This makes it the ideal Android for in the car.
Google Pixel has the ideal in-car feature
And no, we’re not talking about connecting to Android Car. This is really about a feature of the Google Pixel. Google is working on an update that will make the smartphone your ideal in-car assistant.
If you own a car, you do know how dangerous your fellow road users sometimes are. Of course, there’s not much you can do about it. You can hardly start offering them driving lessons. Still, there is a way to better protect yourself from the consequences of an accident, and you can do so in the future with the Google Pixel.
The Google Pixel will soon have a new feature. It was discovered by 9to5Google and is in the Android Personal Safety app. This includes features such as crash detection and the safety check.
The feature Google is adding is a so-called dashcam for phones. So with this you record your route through your Google Pixel. And that comes in handy if you get involved in an accident, for example. With this, you can immediately show exactly how it happened. That makes for less hassle afterwards.

Is the dashcam coming to other Android devices?
You don’t have to worry that the feature will take up a lot of space. The videos take up about 30 MB per minute. There is also the option to have Google automatically delete them after three days. You can also continue to use the phone when the dashcam is on. Handy if you need to navigate, in other words.
Although signs of the new feature are now only on the Google Pixel, there is a chance that it will come to other Android devices as well. For example, Nothing Phone (1) also has the dedicated Personal Safety app.
