Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fans, take note! Apple TV+ has taken a big hit. The latest series from the creators of the two popular series is coming to the streaming service.
Breaking Bad is considered by many people to be the best series ever made. They also think the prequel in the form of Better Call Saul is very successful and can certainly match the original series. Apple TV+ took a good look at that success and brought in the creator for a new project.
Apple TV+ wants to match success of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul
Still, this new series will be slightly different from what we are used to from its creator. Instead of the drug scene in Breaking Bad, we will go more into space. In fact, it will be a sci-fi series.
We do see a familiar face returning. One of the roles in the new series is for Rhea Seehorn, who we saw before in the Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul.
To Variety, the Breaking Bad creator explains exactly what he plans to do with his series on Apple TV+. “I would call it light science fiction myself. It has the elements of it, but mostly it will be fun and different.
We also see another familiar aspect from Better Call Saul. The new Apple TV+ series is also set in Albuquerque. Although it should be noted that this is a very different Albuquerque than we are used to from the lawyer series. Already after the first episode of the series, that place changes dramatically.

Still waiting
However, we still have to wait a while for the Breaking Bad creator’s new series, as filming does not begin until March. After that, of course, editing and considerable post-production is required. So it is obvious that we cannot expect the new series until sometime in 2025 or even later.
By the way, this won’t be the Breaking Bad creator’s only series on Apple TV+. He has a total deal for two series. Perhaps that second one might go in the direction of Better Call Saul.
