Then we share the release date of Ethereum (ETH) Merge we see how billionaire Mark Cuban heavily criticizes the Metaverse. We begin, of course, with live Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto prices.
Live Bitcoin (BTC) price flat, prices top 25 crypto exchange

The prices of the top 25 crypto are changing, but are generally flat. The biggest positive outlier at the moment is Ethereum Classic (ETC) at +12.60%. The biggest loss is currently at -2.93% for OKB (OKB). On the site of Tradeincrypto.com you can analyze all live crypto prices 24 hours a day.
Crypto history: Ethereum (ETH) announces launch date Merge update
Tonight, the developers of Ethereum (ETH) held a call in which they made the announcement that the Merge update will go live on September 15 or 16. The exact time will be when the Total Terminal Difficulty (TTD) of the network is at 587500000000000000000000000. Before that happens, there will be a smaller update under the name Bellatrix on December 6. More information will follow at the next meeting on August 18. Fans can watch the historic call back here.
Crypto investors in Ethereum (ETH) are not overreacting. The live Ethereum (ETH) price at $1,872.78 is only 1.18% higher than yesterday around this time.
With the implementation of the Merge update, the Proof of Work validation of blocks on the blockchain comes to an end. With that, miners must look for an alternative.
Right now, there are two options: either they switch en masse to Ethereum Classic (ETC), hence the price increase of the coin. Another option is for a hard fork, creating a new coin under the name PoW Ethereum Network (ETHW).
Crypto investor and influencer Mark Cuban rebukes Metaverse
American billionaire Mark Cuban took a hard look at one of the trends in crypto, the Metaverse, in an interview. In particular, he finds the purchase of virtual land downright stupid. You can watch the entire interview here.
The bottom line is that he thinks buying virtual land compared to buying land in the real world is stupid for 2 reasons. First, he sees no scarcity in virtual land. Second, he thinks it’s ridiculous for people to buy virtual land when they don’t know what activities will take place on that land and how popular that piece of land will become as a result.
Now, the development of Metaverse is still in its infancy. On the one hand, what Cuban states does make sense, but on the other hand, it is a bit reminiscent of the arguments from the early days of Bitcoin (BTC). However, we can’t ignore the fact that the hype around virtual land, just like the hype around NFT and Metaverse in general, is declining. So will undoubtedly be continued.
BlackRock announcement causes Energy Web Token (EWT) price explosion
Until today, the Energy Web Token (EWT) led a fairly anonymous existence in the crypto world. The coin is ranked 252nd in CoinMarketCap and its value was $2.66 until this morning. This was until BlackRock positively dropped the name of this token because they want to use the functionality of this blockchain to provide more transparency about the use of renewable energy in Bitcoin mining.
The price flew up to $3.75, increasing the coin’s value by 40.04% in just a few hours. The market capitalization also exploded by about $30 million in the same period. Meanwhile, the live Energy Web Token (EWT) price is $3.59 and the result compared to yesterday + 33.37%. Now one swallow does not make a summer, but the interest of a fund like Blackrock ensures that this crypto rises by a spot on the watch list of many a crypto investor.
We will of course continue to follow the developments.
